International partnership agreements
Partner universities
Our current focus is to continue pursuing international agreements with French-speaking partners over a 3-year period. This has already resulted in us signing a first agreement in May 2017 with the Université de VIVES in Belgium. In the very same year, we began accepting international students onto Year 3 of our undergraduate Real Estate Business Manager course (double-degree programme). More recently in March 2018, we signed a new double-degree agreement with La Haute École Charlemagne, located in Liège, Belgium.
The Université de VIVES in Bruges, Belgium and Groupe ESPI signed a partnership agreement in May 2017 for a student exchange programme leading to a double degree qualification awarded by both institutions. The creation and future development of this exchange is part of a wider objective for international cooperation. Our Year 3 students can now apply to study on the 3rd year of our Belgian partners degree in Business Management & Entrepreneurship, taught entirely in English!
Further details for students
Our GESAI undergraduate students can apply to study for a double-degree programme in collaboration with the Université de VIVES upon successful completion of their first 2 years at ESPI. At the same time as the programme of study in Belgium, they are required to choose 1 module from Year 3 of their course in France, for which they must pass all continuous assessments and final exams. In order to qualify for the double degree, they’ll also be asked to write and present a dissertation to a jury at the end of their studies.
Located in Liège- Belgium, la Haute École Charlemagne (heCh) is a member of the Wallonie-Bruxelles Federation network. ESPI and heCh signed a partner exchange agreement in March 2018 leading to a double degree qualification. The school runs higher education programmes that are open to all, on a small and friendly campus where students are put first. It also focuses on offering courses with a strong practical input, through placements, company visits and seminars.
Course details
The course equips students with the skills required for success on the job market, thanks to heCh’s policy of regularly reviewing module content to meet the needs of the profession from both a practical and theoretical perspective. The course is run in partnership with la Haute École Albert Jacquard de Namur and offers students opportunities for professional experience through visits, seminars, conferences and placements.
In July 2018, together with the School of Management of the Université du Québec à Montréal (ESG UQAM) and the Regroupement des Gestionnaires Copropriétaires de Québec (RGCQ), Groupe Espi has undertaken to conclude a tripartite agreement.
The purpose of this agreement is to strenghten and develop our research department and our academic programs through joint mobilities.
Starting from fall 2018, administrative staff members as well as professors have been participating in teaching and training mobilities.
Moreover, internship opportunities from accross Québec will be available to our students from summer 2019.
As a French-language management school in North America, ESG UQAM bases its activities and its development on the values of excellence and quality, with a view to ensuring social responsibility and sustainable development. Its goals are as follows:
Offer international-quality undergraduate and graduate credit programs and continuing education activities in order to train top-level managers and professionals with integrity, a critical sense, social responsibility and an open attitude to the world;
Develop research and knowledge dissemination activities for the benefit of organizations and society in general, both nationally and internationally;
Contribute directly to the development of various socio-economic groups and society in general, in Quebec, Canada and around the world;
Meet the needs of the School’s stakeholders: its students, its faculty, its staff and administrators, its alumni, the University, organizations, professional associations and orders, and socio-economic groups.
The RGCQ promotes sound management and good governance in condominiums. It ensures that both the interests of co-owners and managers are respected, but also that building managers deliver services ethically. The maintenance and preservation of buildings are its main purpose.
As spokesman for co-owners, directors and buidling managers, the RGCQ has always ensured a standardized management and administration of condominiums. This standardization allows to maintain the capital value of units.
Its structure is based on a concept of cooperatives. The RGCQ has three chapters : Montreal, Quebec City and Gatineau which are headead by a main office (RGCQ provincial), in which a board of directors has been elected.
International presence
Over the next 5 years, Groupe ESPI will be widening its international horizons to work increasingly with English-speaking partners as part of a general policy to develop the quality of our overall learning environment, and in particular for the benefit of students, faculty and research. At the same time, we’ll continue to pursue our international development plans by further expanding the activities of our Abidjan campus in the Ivory Coast, opening a new school in Belgium and organising conferences on the theme of international real estate.
